Exhibition Stand Builders in Spain

Spain runs two exhibition calendars at once. Barcelona hosts the global technology and design crowd; Madrid hosts the institutional, agri-food and tourism giants. Most exhibitors end up doing both — and that is where the trouble usually starts. Two cities, two venue bureaucracies, two local contractors, and a brand that somehow looks different in each hall.

Maverick works the other way round. One design team, one set of drawings, one project manager who knows how both Fira Barcelona and IFEMA Madrid actually operate. Your stand looks identical in February and in September, because it is the same stand, built by the same people.

Where We Build in Spain

Two cities carry most of the country’s international traffic. Both are covered end to end — design, production, transport, installation and dismantle — from a single contract.

City Main venues Shows that matter
Barcelona Fira Gran Via, Fira Montjuïc, CCIB MWC, ISE, Alimentaria, Smart City Expo
Madrid IFEMA Madrid, Palacio de Congresos FITUR, Fruit Attraction, ARCO, Motortec

Valencia, Bilbao and Seville are served from the same production base — tell us the venue and we will quote it.

What Actually Makes Spain Different to Build In

Exhibitors are rarely caught out by design. They are caught out by process. Three things trip up first-time exhibitors in Spain more than anything else:

  • Contractor accreditation. Both Fira and IFEMA require your builder to be registered, insured and documented before a single panel enters the hall. Paperwork submitted late means a stand that cannot be built on time.
  • Coordinación de Actividades Empresariales. Spanish health-and-safety law obliges venues and contractors to formally coordinate overlapping work. It is routine when your builder has done it before, and a wall when they have not.
  • Official supplier monopolies. Rigging, power connection and hall services usually run through the venue’s own appointed suppliers, on the venue’s deadlines. Ordering late costs a surcharge; ordering wrong costs a day.

None of this is exotic — it is simply local process. We handle it as part of stand installation and set-up, so it never reaches your marketing team’s inbox.

Stand Types We Build for Spanish Shows

The right structure depends on how often you exhibit and how far the stand has to travel.

  • Custom exhibition stands — for flagship appearances at MWC, ISE or FITUR, where the stand is the campaign.
  • Reusable modular systems — for exhibitors doing four or more Spanish shows a year, where transport and storage economics decide the design.
  • Large and double-deck stands — where floor space is capped and the only way to add meeting rooms is upwards.

Every route starts the same way: a concept and 3D visual from our exhibition stand design team, priced against your real floor plan before anything is committed.

Why Exhibitors Choose Maverick in Spain

One standard across cities. The stand your visitors see in Barcelona is the stand they see in Madrid — same finish, same tolerances, same team.

European production, Spanish delivery. We build in our own workshops and ship in, which keeps quality under our control rather than subcontracted out at the last minute.

Someone on site who can decide. A project manager attends the build, not a call centre. When a hall throws a surprise, it gets solved in the aisle.

Ten years of doing this. Across Europe, the UAE and Asia — the same processes, applied locally.

Exhibiting in Spain: Questions We Get Asked Most

How much does an exhibition stand in Spain cost?

Realistically, €350–€1,100 per square metre for a turnkey custom build. The spread is driven by height, structural complexity, technology and how much of the stand is bespoke joinery versus reusable modular framework. A 40 m² stand at Fira Gran Via and a 40 m² stand at IFEMA rarely cost the same, because hall services and rigging differ.

How early should we book for MWC or FITUR?

For MWC Barcelona and ISE, four to six months is comfortable and three months is tight — February concentrates enormous demand for labour, transport and accommodation into two weeks. FITUR in January has the same effect in Madrid. Outside those peaks, six to eight weeks is workable for a mid-sized custom stand.

Do you handle storage between Spanish shows?

Yes. If you are exhibiting more than twice a year, storing a reusable structure and refreshing only the graphics is almost always cheaper than rebuilding. We store, inspect and re-deploy it for the next show.

Planning Your Spanish Season?

Send us the show, the hall and your stand number, and you will have a concept and a costed proposal to react to — not a brochure. Start in Barcelona, start in Madrid, or plan the whole year at once. Call us now.
